Lamborghini Renews Sustainability Commitment on World Bee Day with Biomonitoring Project

What Happened

On the occasion of World Bee Day, established by the United Nations in 2017, Automobili Lamborghini renewed its focus on protecting the planet. The company highlighted the essential role bees play in maintaining ecosystem balance and safeguarding biodiversity, and reinforced its commitment to sustainability through a long-running biomonitoring program.

The biomonitoring project with bees is a concrete example of how Lamborghini interprets sustainability as a commitment that begins at our production site and extends to the surrounding territory. Lamborghini’s manufacturing site is not only where our cars take shape, but an ecosystem where innovation, responsibility and environmental care coexist every day.
Ranieri Niccoli, Chief Manufacturing Officer of Automobili Lamborghini
Beehives at Lamborghini Park

17beehives

The apiary now holds 17 beehives with a total population of approximately 800,000 bees.

Lamborghini Park, a seven-hectare green space with more than 10,000 plants, hosts the apiary. The bees fly within a three-kilometer radius, collecting nectar, pollen and water, and their activity is monitored with high-tech instruments. This system helps detect pollutants and provides data on air quality and environmental pollution.

Why this matters

The project uses bees as natural indicators to monitor environmental health around Lamborghini's plant, demonstrating how a luxury automaker integrates ecological responsibility into its operations.
