What Happened
Monterey Car Week has been part of Lamborghini's history for nearly 30 years, beginning in 1998 with the Diablo SV Monterey Edition, a special series created exclusively for the event. Over the past decade, the gathering has hosted at least one Lamborghini world premiere each year, covering production models, concept cars and few-off creations. For 2026, the brand will again use the California event as the stage for its latest innovations.
Diablo SV Monterey Edition, one of the rarest Diablo special editions, debuts with V12 power, limited to 20 units.
Concept S, a one-off Gallardo-based concept without a windshield and with a central bulkhead, is unveiled; it uses a naturally aspirated V10 producing around 500 hp.
Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster arrives with a 750-hp V12, reduced weight and enhanced aerodynamics, limited to 500 units.
Centenario Roadster marks 100 years since Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth with a 770-hp V12, rear-wheel steering, active aero and carbon fiber; all 20 units were sold before the premiere.
Aventador SVJ, a 770-hp V12 with all-wheel drive and ALA active aero, sets a Nürburgring Nordschleife production-car lap record of 6:44.97 minutes.
- Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster (2019): celebrates Lamborghini's 1963 founding, with the 770-hp V12, active aero, all-wheel drive and bespoke carbon-fiber details.
- Countach LPI 800-4 (2021): combines a 6.5-liter V12 with a 48-volt electric motor for 814 hp, limited to 112 units as a tribute to the original Countach project designation LP112.
- Urus Performante (2022): a 666-hp twin-turbo V8 Super SUV with weight reduction, revised suspension and enhanced aero.
- Lanzador (2023): an all-electric 2+2 GT concept with elevated ground clearance, all-wheel drive and a target output over one megawatt.
- Temerario (2024): replaces the Huracán with a new twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors in a plug-in hybrid layout.
- Fenomeno (2025): a naturally aspirated V12 hybrid few-off limited to 29 examples.
At the 2026 edition, the headlining world premiere will be the first derivative of the Revuelto, the latest evolution of Lamborghini's V12 HPEV super sports car. The same weekend brings the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage, a 99-example special series created by Ad Personam and Lamborghini Centro Stile to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Miura, the world's first super sports car.
