Why this matters
Monthly volume reports are the clearest public scorecard of how an automaker's products are landing with buyers, and Mahindra's September figures show its SUV-led growth outpacing the wider business. For Indian car buyers and the company's dealers and suppliers, the numbers signal continued demand for its utility vehicles, while a 7% dip in September exports shows the export side moving the other way.
