What Happened
The new platform consists of MAHLE's TechPRO® Digital ADAS 2.0 Extra calibration system and Rohde & Schwarz's R&S® RadEsT radar tester. It enables testing of radar and camera sensors including automatic alignment measurement. The joint development targets workshops, manufacturers, inspection organizations, and can also be used for static testing of ADAS sensors as part of periodic technical inspections.
“With this innovation, we are taking driver assistance systems to the next level. For the first time, their functionality after a repair becomes measurable, traceable, and standardizable. This is not only a technological advancement — it is a decisive step toward greater safety, transparency, and trust across the entire mobility ecosystem.”
- Post-repair verification that ADAS continues to operate within specification
- Quality and performance testing with simulation of correct and faulty system states
- Generation of reproducible and audit-proof measurement data for inspections, regulatory requirements, or insurance assessments
Why this matters
Until now, standardized measurement procedures for testing ADAS sensors after accidents or repairs have been lacking; this innovation closes that gap, improving safety, transparency, and trust for workshops, manufacturers, and inspection organizations.
