What Happened
At the start of October, the 200,000th MAN TGE rolled off the production line at MAN Truck & Bus's plant in Września, Poland. The milestone vehicle is a MAN TGE 5.160 Windlauf with rear-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. It arrives in the model's tenth year, and MAN says the production jubilee reflects the growth of recent years. Since its market launch, the TGE has established itself as a fixture in the MAN product portfolio.
MAN presents the TGE for the first time at the IAA Nutzfahrzeuge (today IAA Transportation) in Hanover.
Series production of the MAN TGE starts at the Września plant in Poland.

- more than six years
- slightly more than three years
- 71% were panel vans (Kastenwagen)
- 21% were vehicles with a single cab
- 8% were vehicles with a double cab
- Nearly one in three therefore went to the customer with a body fitted
The TGE has taken hold in many sectors: skilled trades, the construction industry, the logistics sector, as a municipal vehicle and as a base for high-quality motorhomes. One of its strengths is the bodybuilding expertise carried over from MAN's truck business, with a broad range of integration solutions covering tippers, flatbeds, box bodies, shelving conversions and fresh-goods service through to passenger transport. This close interplay with body manufacturers is reflected in the variants that have been built.
- Automatic transmissions were slightly ahead of manual gearboxes, at 53% versus 47%
- The most popular colours were Candy White, Indium Grey Metallic and Reflex Silver Metallic

Previously from MAN Truck & Bus
MAN Truck & Bus had just expanded its MAN Individual range for the TGE, adding an off-road-styled Lion X line and a glossy-black entry package. The same announcement included a Performance Kit that lifts the heavy-duty engine from 163 PS to 190 PS.

Why this matters
The milestone reflects the TGE's growth in recent years and its established place in MAN's product portfolio, with the van used in skilled trades, construction, logistics and municipal fleets. It also shows how fast output has accelerated: the first 100,000 took more than six years, the second only slightly more than three.
