What Happened
MAN Truck & Bus has presented the new MAN TGX Truckers' Edition at the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. The special edition is based on the MAN TGX 18.560 4x2 tractor unit and features the efficient MAN PowerLion drivetrain with a D30 engine producing 560 PS. Developed in close collaboration with the Truckers' World Community, around 350 drivers contributed to the design and equipment.
The truck achieves fuel and CO₂ savings of up to five percent compared to its predecessor, thanks to the D30 engine with over 50 percent thermal efficiency, a new MAN TipMatic 14 transmission, and optimized aerodynamics. Safety and efficiency are enhanced by systems such as MAN EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive, Emergency Brake Assist EBA Plus with Front Detection, and a turning aid.
Driver comfort is a priority, with standard features including heated and ventilated comfort seats, MAN ComfortSteering, an electric auxiliary climate system, ample storage, a 24-inch TV, a wardrobe combination, and a specially developed TV lounger. Practical aids like automatic fifth-wheel coupling sensing, electronic fuel theft prevention, and the MAN OptiView digital mirror system support daily operations.
The exterior design was also guided by driver feedback, featuring body-colored front sections, no chrome, black design elements, black wheels, a black sun visor, roof bar with integrated LED light bar, and air horns. The launch color is 'Mojave Beige Metallic', but other colors are available. The edition is limited to European markets and includes a gift package with a CB radio, floor mats, a fitted sheet, wind deflectors, and a designer leather jacket for the driver.

Compared to the previous D26-powered model, thanks to the more efficient D30 engine and improved aerodynamics.
“This is not an ordinary model, but the result of an intensive dialogue with our community. Design and equipment are directly based on feedback from everyday driving and are the answer to the real requirements in long-distance transport.”
Why this matters
This edition shows how OEMs are tailoring trucks to driver needs to address driver retention. By involving 350 professional drivers in the design and offering factory-installed comfort and safety features, MAN aims to help small and medium-sized fleet operators attract and retain drivers without expensive post-delivery modifications. The five percent fuel savings also reduce operational costs.
