McLaren Reveals MCL-HY Hybrid Hypercar for 2027 WEC, Alongside Track-Only GTR Variant

What Happened
McLaren has revealed the MCL-HY hybrid hypercar, which will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2027, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Built to LMDh regulations, it features a twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain producing up to 520 kW (707 PS) and weighs a minimum of 1,030 kg. A track-only GTR variant, powered solely by the combustion engine, is also announced.

The MCL-HY GTR is part of the Project: Endurance program, offering clients an immersive race team experience, professional driver coaching, a dedicated pit crew, and a two-year track driving program at premier international circuits. Ownership includes arrive-and-drive access to PURE McLaren track events.
