Nio's third-generation ES8 nears 150,000 China deliveries after a 10,000-unit month
Nio expects to record the 150,000th China handover of its third-generation ES8 this week, about four weeks after the vehicle crossed 140,000 units.
- 150,000 China deliveries
- 11,001
- +6.93%
- 99,948
What Happened
Nio expects its latest ES8 to cross the 150,000-unit mark in its home market during the week of September 14. Yang Bo, the company's head of user operations, posted the forecast on Weibo.
The company had logged 140,000 ES8 handovers when the Chengdu motor show opened on August 21. Its latest forecast implies that another 10,000 vehicles have gone to customers in approximately four weeks.
Nio's figures alongside the CPCA dataset, as carried in the report, put August ES8 deliveries at 11,001 units, up 6.93% from a year earlier. The model had accumulated 99,948 handovers between January and August.
The near-term figure is a model milestone rather than a company-wide delivery result. It gives Nio a fresh measure of the ES8's contribution as the electric-SUV market continues to add new large vehicles.
Why this matters
The ES8 milestone shows how quickly Nio's flagship SUV has accumulated volume in its home market. August deliveries reached 11,001 units, giving the model a clear numerical base behind the near-term milestone.
