What Happened
Rolls-Royce has unveiled four Private Commissions under the name Cullinan Yachting, celebrating the aesthetics, materials and spirit of contemporary yachting. Each motor car is defined by a cardinal point of the compass – North, South, East or West – with corresponding exterior finishes and interior details. All four feature marine-grade teak, hand-painted nautical fascias, and unique Starlight Headliners inspired by Mediterranean wind patterns.
“Yachting is a world inhabited by many of our clients, and one we’ve come to know intimately. These highly Bespoke Cullinan motor cars celebrate the deep connection between that culture and Rolls-Royce: a relationship that began with our founder, Charles Rolls, and continues to this day.”
- North: Crystal over Light Blue, evoking colder waters.
- South: Crystal over Arabian Blue IV, capturing warm climes.
- East: Dark Silk Teal, suggesting deep water calm.
- West: Sapphire Gunmetal, echoing a storm-lit ocean sky.
The interior is finished in Arctic White and Navy Blue leather with a hand-stitched rigging pattern. A marquetry compass motif on the rear Waterfall comprises more than 40 individual pieces of veneer. The Starlight Headliner features fiber-optic stars in patterns based on Mediterranean wind maps, with subtle motion.
Why this matters
The commissions highlight Rolls-Royce's deep connection to yachting and its ability to create highly personalized luxury vehicles with authentic maritime materials, appealing to clients who own yachts.
