Samsung SDI Showcases Battery Innovations for AI Era at InterBattery 2026

What Happened
Samsung SDI will highlight high-power batteries for AI data centers, including its UPS battery U8A1 using LMO chemistry and a new BBU solution with high-capacity cylindrical cells. The UPS battery won an award at The Smarter E Europe, making Samsung SDI the only Korean company to receive that honor.
The company will showcase the full Samsung Battery Box (SBB) lineup for energy storage, featuring EDI technology and advanced safety systems. It will also unveil Samsung Battery Intelligence (SBI), an AI-based fire-prevention software for ESS, for the first time.
Samsung SDI plans to introduce all-solid-state battery applications for physical AI like humanoids and robots, with mass production targeted for the second half of 2027. Additionally, joint marketing with Milwaukee will demonstrate tabless cylindrical batteries delivering 50A power.
