What Happened
Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., has delivered a third Enviro200 single-deck bus to Watermill Coaches of Aberdeenshire, Scotland — the third year running the operator has invested in the model. Like the two examples delivered in 2024 and 2025, the new bus is 8.9m long and seats 30 with belts at every seat. It is built to Alexander Dennis's attractive stock specification, trimmed in Camira moquette with Altro wood-effect flooring, and painted white with Watermill's purple-based branding.
The bus was bought from stock, giving the operator good availability and fast delivery. Alexander Dennis's Scarborough facility added three-point belts to all fixed seats at short notice in time for the contract start date, thanks to the SmartSeat's ability to be retrofitted with belts. The bus is lightweight and fuel-efficient, and its SmartPack efficiency technology earns it Low Emission Bus accreditation. It will be used on a new local bus service contract won by the operator.
Watermill Coaches, established in 1979, operates from three depots in Aberdeenshire and runs several bus routes around Ellon, Fraserburgh, Inverurie, Newburgh and Peterhead. The operator's fleet numbers more than 60 buses and coaches, and it invests frequently in brand-new vehicles, also offering private hire and corporate transport services.

“We're very impressed by the service from Alexander Dennis. They had just the right sort of vehicle in stock and were very good in converting it to belted and delivering it to us quickly before the start of our new contract. The two Enviro200 buses already in the fleet are fantastic workhorses, they drive well and our passengers like them, so we had full confidence in buying a third.”
“I'm delighted that Raymond and the Watermill team have decided to come to Alexander Dennis once again for their new bus purchase. The combination of available stock, and a great team at our Scarborough facility to flip the built bus into belted for the contract it will be working on, made the Enviro200 the ideal choice. Many thanks to Watermill Coaches for the repeat business.”
Why this matters
The repeat purchase shows how buying from stock can help bus operators meet tight contract deadlines, with Alexander Dennis retrofitting seatbelts at short notice. Watermill Coaches, which runs routes across Aberdeenshire, gains a fuel-efficient, low-emission bus for its new service, and the deal reinforces the manufacturer's relationship with a repeat customer.
