What Happened
Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group, announced an order for five Enviro200 single-deck buses from Stephensons of Essex at the annual ALBUM Conference. Three buses will be 9.7 meters with 34 seats, and two will be 8.9 meters with 30 seats. Delivery is expected in autumn 2026.
The buses will be fitted with Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology, combining engine stop-start, e-cooling, and auxiliary load management. This reduces carbon emissions by up to 24% and improves fuel economy, qualifying the vehicles for Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) incentive payments.
