“As we celebrate this important milestone of 50 years today, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all customers in Brunei who have chosen Suzuki products over the years, and to everyone at Boustead for their longstanding dedication to Suzuki. Suzuki aims to be an 'infrastructure mobility closely connected to people's lives.' Brunei, where automobiles play an essential role in daily transportation, is a market that strongly aligns with this philosophy. It is also a promising growth market, where we expect further business expansion through the introduction of mini-vehicle sized models announced today, as well as motorcycles that offer the joy and excitement of riding. Under our corporate slogan, 'By Your Side,' Suzuki will continue to listen closely to our customers in Brunei and provide mobility solutions suited to the characteristics of the market. Together with Boustead, we will contribute to regional development and enriched lifestyles while moving forward toward the next 50 years of our partnership.”
“Today marks the 50th anniversary of the partnership between Boustead and Suzuki. Since Boustead was appointed as Suzuki's distributor in 1976, the two companies have provided mobility solutions to customers in Brunei through a strong partnership built on mutual trust. Over the years, many Suzuki models, including the Swift and Jimny, have become familiar and popular among customers in Brunei, and Suzuki's DNA of 'lightweight, small, and fun' vehicles has continued to earn their support. Moving forward, we will continue to value our connection with people while further enhancing our products and services, and grow together with our customers in Brunei.”
Brunei has a high vehicle ownership rate per capita, and automobiles are widely used for everyday transportation, including commuting to work and school. Boustead currently imports and sells compact, easy-to-drive models centered on SUVs, including the Jimny 3-Door/5-Door, Ertiga, and Fronx. For motorcycles, Suzuki plans to introduce popular large-displacement models for touring and leisure riding, including the Hayabusa, GSX-S1000GX, and GSX-8R. Boustead also announced it will begin handling Suzuki motorcycles, with sales scheduled to commence around autumn 2026.
