What Happened
Bengaluru-headquartered electric motorcycle manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive introduced its X-47 Venom on Thursday, inaugurating its proprietary 100-volt VX100 vehicle architecture. Introductory ex-showroom pricing begins at 2.65 lakh rupees for the initial 5,000 reservations, before settling at a standard baseline price of 3 lakh rupees, with the flagship 11 kWh configuration priced at 4.12 lakh rupees.
The flagship configuration utilizes the SRB11 battery module, providing an Indian Driving Cycle rating of up to 343 kilometers per charge. According to the manufacturer, the pack achieves a 20 percent improvement in gravimetric energy density while reducing pack weight by approximately 15 percent relative to previous iterations, housed inside a cast-aluminium protective enclosure rated at IP67.
Powertrain mechanicals include an in-house motor designated UV Lightfury alongside a silicon-carbide inverter controller, delivering 30 kilowatts of peak output and 550 Newton-meters of rear-wheel torque. The system enables zero-to-100 km/h acceleration in 5.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 155 km/h, backed by 12 kW external direct-current rapid charging support.
Order books opened immediately across digital portals and retail showrooms, with domestic consumer handovers scheduled for November 2026. Ultraviolette plans to showcase the motorcycle internationally at the EICMA trade exhibition in Milan on November 3.
Why this matters
The introduction of the VX100 architecture marks a substantial shift toward high-voltage systems in India's electric two-wheeler market. By supporting 12 kW external direct-current charging and shaving 20 kilograms from overall mass, Ultraviolette aims to establish competitive performance benchmarks as it accelerates export deliveries across European destinations.
