What Happened
Yezdi and BSA, two brands with original scrambler lineage, have come together for the first time to launch the Yezdi Scrambler 350 and the BSA Scrambler 650 for India's modern rider. The motorcycles feature purpose-built powertrains and rugged, authentic design, strengthening the scrambler format at both ends of the premium motorcycling market.
The Yezdi Scrambler 350 is India's lightest 350cc scrambler at 174 kg, built around a new liquid-cooled 'Katar' engine. It delivers a '30-30-30' mix — 30 bhp, 30 Nm and 30 km/l — for on-road and soft-road riding. A horizontally oriented radiator and centrally routed exhaust aid cooling, while a mass-centralised body, shortest wheelbase, and tuned gearing promise sharp throttle response. Scrambler-ready spoked, semi-knobby tyres and best-in-class braking ensure grip and control. It starts at Rs 1,99,950; colors are Legacy Black (Rs 1,99,950), OG Yellow and Rogue Red (Rs 2,05,950 each), and Rally Blue (Rs 2,08,950).
The BSA Scrambler 650 is powered by India's only 650cc single-cylinder engine in the segment, producing 45 bhp and 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm for strong low and mid-range torque. It debuts in India after strong rider response in the UK, with design inspired by the Gold Star Catalina, A10 Spitfire, and A65 Firebird. Features include a sculpted tank with chrome accents, a flat ribbed bench seat, '65' oval side panels, and an exposed subframe, plus India-specific adaptations for control and comfort. Introductory pricing is Rs 3,24,950; Raven Black is that price, Victor Yellow is Rs 3,32,950, and Thunder Grey is Rs 3,40,950.
BSA scramblers hand-modified by riders before they were factory-built.
Yezdi revived the format in India with the country's first mainstream factory-custom scrambler.
Yezdi and BSA launch the Scrambler 350 and Scrambler 650 in Mumbai.
“I have always believed that scramblers will redefine Indian riding culture the way SUVs redefined passenger four-wheelers. They are the SUVs of motorcycling. Scramblers are built for confident city-riding. But they are also agile and rugged enough to inspire you to explore terrain beyond roads on the weekends.”
“Yezdi has always belonged to riders with a flair for style and little patience for rigid labels. When I think of Yezdi, I think of scramblers. Each ride carries a sense of mischief that has always been a part of the Yezdi experience.”
Both motorcycles are backed by Classic Legends' industry-first Ownership Assurance Programme, which includes a 4-year/50,000-km standard warranty, extended warranty up to 6 years, up to 8 years roadside assistance, and up to 5 years AMC. The programme is available nationwide across 400+ sales and service touchpoints.
Why this matters
The launch aims to strengthen the scrambler format at both ends of India's premium motorcycle market, giving riders a lightweight 350cc city-capable option and a 650cc single-cylinder alternative. Yezdi and BSA, both with deep scrambler lineage, are betting that riders want the same go-anywhere appeal that SUVs brought to cars. Backed by a long warranty and nationwide service network, the bikes target modern riders seeking city, trail, and highway versati…
