What Happened
CaetanoBus has delivered 20 units of its new-generation CAETANO e.City Gold 100% electric buses to STCP, the public transport operator in Porto. STCP began operating the buses on March 1, 2026, and has placed an order for an additional 30 units, with delivery expected later this year. The new buses feature a 422 kWh battery designed for continuous daily operation.
The 12-meter buses can carry up to 88 passengers and incorporate advanced components from CRRC, the world's largest rolling stock manufacturer. CaetanoBus designed and specified the product through its own engineering, collaborating with STCP to meet urban mobility demands. The new generation includes latest-generation electric propulsion, battery thermal management, and energy efficiency systems, aiming to reduce energy consumption per kilometer and total cost of operation.
