Hero MotoCorp’s August Sales Rise 2.6% as Scooters Gain Momentum

What Happened

Hero MotoCorp's total two-wheeler sales reached 568,398 units in August, compared with 553,727 a year earlier. Domestic volumes increased 4.5 percent to 542,305 units.

Scooters supplied most of the growth: monthly volume climbed to 74,547 units from 52,204, a 43 percent increase. Motorcycle sales moved the other way, slipping 1.5 percent to 493,851 units.

For the first eight months of 2026, Hero sold 332,456 scooters, up 70 percent, while motorcycle volume rose 12.4 percent to 2,446,671 units.

Exports fell to 26,093 units from 34,588 a year earlier, a decline of nearly one quarter. Hero's August overseas shipments included the XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 200 4V Pro in Bangladesh.

Why this matters

Hero's August mix shows a sharp split between its faster-growing scooter business and a weaker export line. The data also sets a new base for the festive season, when the company will need domestic momentum to offset softer overseas dispatches.
