What Happened
On August 7, Leapmotor said the 100,000th A10, its small electric SUV, had come off the line. That landmark arrived 135 days after the car went on sale, beating the company's own speed record to 100,000 and setting the mark for the sub-100,000-yuan electric-SUV class.
On sale since March 26, the A10 has led sales ever since. Its 28,593 deliveries in July helped push Leapmotor's global total up 102.01% year-on-year to 101,267 units, the first startup, it says, to clear 100,000 in a single month.

The A05 hatchback launches.
Leapmotor is widening the A-series with the A05, due August 10. The A0-class five-door hatch aims at city commuters, offering 405 km and 510 km range choices. It carries a Qualcomm 8295 chip as standard, with LiDAR optional. A 99 yuan deposit opens pre-orders.
Why this matters
The pace shows how fast Leapmotor has scaled a cheap electric SUV, and sets the standard in the sub-100,000-yuan electric-SUV bracket. It also puts advanced self-driving hardware, LiDAR included, into cars under 100,000 yuan for the first time. With July global deliveries up 102.01% year-on-year to 101,267 units, Leapmotor claims to be the first startup past 100,000 in a single month.
