Maruti Suzuki launches DesignXathon 2026 design challenge for students

What Happened
Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced the launch of the second edition of its flagship design challenge, DesignXathon 2026. The initiative invites students from Indian and global design institutes based in India to submit concepts on future-ready mobility solutions, under the theme 'Envision an iconic vehicle, Gen Z and Alpha aspire to own in 2036.'

The first edition of DesignXathon received entries from over 400 students from 70 leading design institutes. Winning teams were from MIT Institute of Design, VIT Vellore and Strate School of Design, and eight students are currently undergoing a 6-month internship with Maruti Suzuki's design team. For the new edition, top three teams will gain a six-month internship, while fourth to tenth place teams will receive recognition and an opportunity to apply for an internship.
