What Happened
Racktours GmbH & Co. KG, a private bus operator based in Erlensee, has taken delivery of three all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro solo buses. The twelve-meter vehicles were handed over by Daimler Buses. Racktours is one of the first private bus companies in Hessen to deploy electric buses in scheduled service, operating in the Main-Kinzig district for KVG Main-Kinzig.

One bus has six battery packs; the other two have five packs with 555 kWh each, using NMC 4 technology.

Over the past five years, Racktours has bought more than 21 Mercedes-Benz buses from Daimler Buses. The company, founded in 1945, now employs 114 people and operates a fleet of 45 city buses and five touring coaches.
