What Happened
Showroom arrivals began ahead of the September 16 debut across national retail points. Post-subsidy pre-order pricing ranges from 137,800 yuan to 174,800 yuan across nine rear-wheel-drive specifications, spanning five pure battery-electric builds and four extended-range variants.
The 5,020 mm executive crossover rides on a 3,040 mm wheelbase and provides 645 liters of rear cargo space, expanding to 1,845 liters when the second-row seating folds. Battery-electric trims adopt an 800-volt high-voltage architecture with a 227 kW motor, offering 75.4 kWh and 84.8 kWh battery capacities delivering up to 715 kilometers of CLTC range.
Range-extended configurations pair a 1.5-liter internal combustion generator with a 200 kW electric motor and a 43.9 kWh pack, delivering 320 kilometers of battery operation and 1,315 kilometers of combined range. CATL supplies cells across the portfolio, while selected variants integrate Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 Pro intelligent driving suite.
Why this matters
The Alpha T7 targets China's highly contested sub-200,000 yuan family utility category with 800V fast charging and Huawei intelligent driving, seeking to build volume for BAIC after gathering 30,000 pre-orders in 72 hours.
