- 17.9 inches
- 31.3-inch 8K
- 112.4kWh international spec
What Happened
The two sedans receive a new illuminated grille, split headlamps, redesigned bumpers and slimmer rear lamps while keeping the basic 7 Series/i7 shape. BMW opened Indian bookings on August 1, ahead of the September delivery and pricing announcement expected with the launch.
Inside, the major change is BMW’s Panoramic iDrive projection that spans the base of the windscreen, paired with 17.9-inch central and 14.6-inch passenger screens. The cabin also adds revised controls, a new steering wheel, updated ambient lighting and a 31.3-inch 8K rear theatre display.
BMW has not confirmed the Indian variant mix. International versions include a 400hp mild-hybrid 740i xDrive, a 313hp 740d xDrive and an i7 xDrive50 with a 112.4kWh battery and 455hp; the range-topping i7 M70’s output rises to 680hp abroad.
Why this matters
The refresh gives BMW a new cabin interface and revised petrol, diesel and electric drivetrains in its top sedan line. The India launch will also clarify which of the international powertrain and battery changes make it into the local range.
