What Happened
Buick's China range now includes the Electra L7, a battery-electric model offered in three versions at RMB 179,900, RMB 199,900 and RMB 209,900. Incentives reduce those figures by RMB 10,000 each.
The sedan pairs an 80.6-kWh LFP pack with an 800-volt electrical system and 6C charging capability. Buick claims up to 450 km of CLTC range can be added in 10 minutes, while total certified range reaches 702 km.
Output is rated at 282 kW and 382 Nm. The Electra L7 can reach 100 kph in 5.6 seconds and tops out at 220 kph. Its driver-assistance stack is based on Momenta R6, with additional functions planned through later updates.
Why this matters
The launch puts a relatively large electric sedan into a crowded Chinese market with fast-charging hardware as a headline feature. Buick is also tying the car to a software roadmap, making the launch a test of whether its joint-venture EV portfolio can regain momentum.
