Exicom begins US shipments of India-made liquid-cooled charger modules

Exicom has started making liquid-cooled power modules in Hyderabad and is exporting them to the US for fast chargers and solar inverters.

What Happened

Exicom says it has begun serial production of liquid-cooled AC-DC and DC-DC power modules at Hyderabad after nearly two years of development and about $3.5 million of investment. The hardware is now moving from India to the company’s US factory for use in next-generation DC fast chargers and solar inverters.

In comments to Autocar Professional, EVSE chief executive Anshuman Divyanshu said the modules can reach 99% efficiency, compared with roughly 95–96% for typical conventional units. Silicon-carbide power electronics and liquid cooling are intended to control heat as charging power increases.

Exicom is offering a 10-year warranty, versus about two years for conventional air-cooled modules, while acknowledging that the new units currently cost about twice as much to build. The company estimates their lifetime ownership cost could still be 25–30% lower because of efficiency and durability.

The modules are bidirectional and can support future vehicle-to-grid use. Exicom expects the US and Europe to lead near-term demand; it says Indian chargers will remain predominantly air-cooled for the next two years as higher-current vehicles and infrastructure develop.

Why this matters

The modules are designed for higher power density and can reach up to 99% conversion efficiency, which becomes more valuable as charging currents rise. The early export focus also shows where Exicom sees customers willing to pay for advanced charging hardware while the Indian market remains mostly air-cooled in the near term.
