The German deliveries stem from a contract signed in early 2025 for more than 200 battery-electric eActros 600 trucks, Amazon's largest-ever electric truck order; the majority of those vehicles operate in the United Kingdom, where deliveries began in late 2025. At the handover, Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Minister Achim Schwickert, Economics Minister Michael Ebling, and Parliamentary State Secretary Christian Hirte all said the rollout proves battery-electric heavy trucks are already operating efficiently in real-world service and that Germany's charging-network expansion will continue to support them.

To integrate the new trucks, Amazon is installing hundreds of heavy goods vehicle chargers at its European locations, enabling the eActros 600 to charge from 10% to 80% in around 70 minutes. In total, Amazon is investing more than €1 billion to electrify and decarbonize its European transportation network, including more than €400 million for its German operations. The eActros 600 deployment is part of Amazon's broader decarbonization investments in Germany.
The eActros 600 has three battery packs of 207 kWh each, giving an installed capacity of 621 kWh based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, and can cover 500 km without intermediate charging; in the most economical configuration, range extends to 560 km. Mercedes-Benz Trucks says the truck can cover well over 1,000 km per day when charging during driver breaks, and is engineered for up to 1.2 million km in ten years. The model has won the International Truck of the Year 2025 award and completed testing tours of 15,000 km through 22 countries in 2024 and about 6,500 km through Northern Europe in winter 2025. The company recently expanded the eActros family with more than 40 base-vehicle variants, including the eActros Lowliner for high-volume transport, which will be orderable in EU30 and additional markets from the third quarter of 2026, with series production at Wörth starting in the second quarter of 2027; details will be shared at this year's IAA Transportation.
