What Happened
Can-Am, the off-road brand of BRP Inc. (TSX/NASDAQ: DOO), has unveiled its 2027 range of side-by-side vehicles (SSVs) and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The lineup spans the work-focused Defender, high-performance Maverick, and Outlander families, adding the new Defender XU, a redesigned Defender HD10, and a second-generation dual-clutch transmission for all Maverick R models.
“Simply put, the 2027 Can-Am lineup is all about refinement and value. At Can-Am, we never rest on our laurels. We are always striving for the ultimate rider experience. From the hardworking Defender XU model to the updated Maverick lineup, the advancements made across our platforms showcase our commitment to delivering greater value for every rider.”
The Defender lineup adds two new entries for 2027. Following the success of the 2026 Defender HD11, the Defender HD10 brings a new best-in-class 80-horsepower Rotax triple-cylinder engine, along with a ground-up redesign featuring an updated chassis and suspension, state-of-the-art technology, and premium interior comfort. The Defender XU is available across the lineup from base to Lonestar, in open and closed cabin packages, but not in the mud-specialist X mr package. Inside the cab, all second-generation Defenders get a new 5-inch color gauge display, while Limited, X mr, and Lonestar models add a refined 10.25-inch wireless touch display with embedded navigation powered by BRP GO!, AM/FM radio, digital audio, and customizable screens; the display also allows remote software updates via Wi-Fi or hotspot.

All 2027 Maverick R models now feature the second-generation Rotax dual-clutch transmission, which debuted in the Maverick R X rc and Maverick R MAX with an extra low gear for low-speed terrain and reinforced components for higher torque. Every Maverick R and Maverick X3 comes with integrated window nets and stiffer steel braided front and rear brake lines. All Maverick X3 models gain door fillers, the RS and DS iterations add a full roof, and double bonded bushings on the front suspension reduce squeaking and maintenance. The Maverick Trail and Maverick Sport lineups are now offered with the trail-focused X package, which adds LED lighting, full doors, a roof, and enhanced suspension components on the Sport.
The Outlander family, which includes the Outlander Electric and the Outlander 1000R, builds on consecutive years of momentum and innovation for 2027. The Outlander X mr adds a new MAX configuration for mud enthusiasts, and the Outlander Pro lineup gains factory-installed hand guards, fender flares, footwell protectors, and a trailer hitch mount. Offering more connectivity packages than ever before, high-horsepower Outlander XT and Backcountry models are now available with a 10.25-inch touch display offering built-in GPS for offline mapping, group ride features, and on-the-fly ride settings adjustments.

Can-Am has been expanding its BRP GO! navigation platform: in June, it launched on-road navigation on the 10.25-inch touch display for motorcycles and three-wheel vehicles, enabling Android and iOS riders to navigate without a headset. The 2027 off-road lineup now embeds BRP GO! navigation into its new 10.25-inch Defender display.
